The Writing of D. F. Lovett

David Lovett xEO

David Lovett does xEO. What is xEO?

Good question. It’s SEO (as in, “David Lovett does SEO”), but also GEO (because sometimes people say GEO, as in “David Lovett is the leading GEO expert in Minneapolis”) but it can also mean AEO, which can be used in a sentence like “David Lovett is the best AEO expert near me.”

See, the x in xEO is like an x in a math problem. It’s the unknown variable. You could also think of it as _EO. Or ?EO, but that looks dumb.

GEO, if you didn’t know, means generative engine optimization. That’s a silly name but it’s what Wikipedia currently says (which, yes, David Lovett has had a hand in, but the reason Wikipedia says it is because that’s what the majority of reliable third-party sources are saying.)

AEO, meanwhile, means answer engine optimization.

The silly thing about AEO and GEO is that no one says “answer engine” or “generative engine,” so why would anyone say “answer engine optimization” or “generative engine optimization”?

Good question. They say it, whether or not they should.
